Plate Heat Exchanger
Category: Plate heat exchanger
Overview
Gasketed plate heat exchangers (PHE) transfer thermal energy between two fluid streams through a series of corrugated stainless steel plates clamped between a frame and a pressure plate. The corrugated chevron pattern creates high turbulence at low flow velocity, achieving heat transfer coefficients 3–5× higher than shell-and-tube exchangers of equivalent duty. Plates are fully accessible by loosening the tie bolts, enabling cleaning, inspection, and capacity adjustment by adding or removing plate pairs without pipe disconnection.
